Barnsley Museums and Heritage Trust
Environment
We want to bring volunteers together from the Worsbrough Community to help take care of the Country Park.
About this cause
Barnsley Museums and Heritage Trust is a charity raising funds and support for our wonderful venues Worsbrough Mill and Country Park, Elsecar Heritage Centre, Cannon Hall, Cooper Gallery and Experience Barnsley. The Museums are at the heart of the Barnsley community and are visited by more than 1.2 million people a year. Local families and children are regular visitors. The Museums, which are free of charge, are a place where families can spend quality time and learn together, whilst gaining inspiration to reach their potential in life. At Worsbrough there is the added bonus for families of being able to play outside together in the beautiful country park. This leads to healthier, more active families that are engaged with their environment.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The project will bring together volunteers in the local community who will work together to make sure that this vital community resource is looked after and sustained so that it can be enjoyed by the 140,000 people who enjoy spending time there with friends and family or simply walking their dogs. The country park is teeming with wildlife and wide varieties of plant species that will be cared for.
