About the Project
The Mary Davies Trust has identified a hugely beneficial need in the community of Arran for Feel Good Therapies, Bereavement and Psychological Support.Treatments are administered to those with chronic conditions who don’t have the wherewithal or knowledge for access by other means. Increasing awareness and popularity of the Trust to the peoples of Arran is sufficient to maintain the operation.
About the Charity
The Mary Davies Trust was established from a legacy left by Mrs Mary Davies to administer Complementary Feel Good Therapies for the healing of body, mind, emotions and spirit, to the people of the Isle of Arran. Qualified therapists are funded to provide six free treatments. The Trust is funded from rental of Mary’s house. Priority is given to those caring for loved ones, also to sufferers of stress, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, stroke victims, bereavement and psychological issues. Treatments are given to some with chronic conditions, who don’t have the wherewithal or knowledge to access them. With current rate of expenditure the Trust will run out of funds in 3 years. Our objective is to continue to carry out Mary’s wishes, to treat as many Arran people in need as possible.
