The Friends of Romanby School is an informal parent/staff group. All parents and staff are automatically members and are welcome to help organise and join in the activities. The aim of the group is to promote friendship and fellowship whilst at the same time raising much needed funds for enhancing the education of the children attending the school. Several social and fund raising events are organised throughout the year, for example, quiz nights, summer and Christmas fairs and children’s discos. Everyone is welcome to attend our informal meetings, which are normally held each term in the evening. A letter is sent out to parents via the children with information about forthcoming events and dates of meetings. New faces and new ideas are always welcome!
The computers would not only be used for IT lessons but would be utilised within other subjects for research and presentation purposes. We also recognise that not all our children and families have access to computers at home. We would also offer the computers outside of school hours for pupils and community use which will lead to higher levels of digital literacy within our wider community.
