About this cause
Friends of Stoneface Creative is a small arts and environmental based unincorporated charity that works with a range of groups and individuals; supporting children, people with disabilities and older people. We deliver beneficial projects from Storrs Wood; a beautiful woodland between Stannington and Bradfield. Our projects include sculpture workshops, wax rubbing for children, camp-fire storytelling, short walk groups etc. We aim to reach groups and individuals who wouldn’t usually access the arts and/or the natural environment. We are a new charity; Andrew Vickers, Stoneface Creative’s resident artist has undertaken a range of voluntary charitable projects to date but more recently we have realised that to deliver community projects appropriately we needed to establish a charity.
How this cause brings people in the community together
We have worked with Artworks Sheffield & The Forresters to develop activities for adults with disabilities & children aged 0-7. We want to expand this work to offer more opportunities to community members who benefit from our activity. Community art & woodland activities have been evidenced to improve confidence, health & wellbeing which subsequently increases participation in the wider community.
