We want to buy a community taxi to help combat loneliness and transport people in need.
About this cause
Love Woburn Sands is a Community charity set up to help people in need in Woburn Sands and surrounding villages. Through its Community Smiles initiative, it employs a Community Projects Manager to work with Schools, Churches, Council, Local NHS. For example, it works closely with 1200+ students and staff in the six schools locally: Fulbrook Middle School, Swallowfield Lower School, Aspley Guise Lower School, Husborne Crawley Lower School, Ridgmont Lower School and Woburn Lower School to facilitate children and community to come together and make things happen. Here are some of our projects: Walk and Talk, Coffee and Chat, IT Learning, Community Taxi, Medicine Delivery, Community Youth Group, Swim and Relax, Reading In Schools, Language Learning, Yarn Club and Giving-Caring-Sharing.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Love Woburn Sands and Community Smiles link up with Churches, Schools, Council, Local NHS in Woburn Sands and surrounding villages including Aspley Guise, Husborne Crawley, Ridgmont and Woburn. It works with over 120 different partners, groups and organisations to identify and help people in need. The Community Project Manager works with over 1200 students aged 5-13 with educational support.
