We want to run weekly summer Beach School sessions, community events and adult workshops, to help local people get closer to nature.
About this cause
Sea the Change, we're all about action. We strive to help our community adopt new behaviours that help to create a happier, healthier, more sustainable world. We plan to host a series of events, activities and campaigns that will improve health and wellbeing, reduce social isolation and raise environmental awareness through engagement with the natural environment and a shared sense of community spirit. This summer, Sea the Change want to launch the project and hold a pilot of our Community Beach School – to give our children the opportunity to learn and develop in a natural environment, sparking their intrinsic motivations to explore, create and be curious about the world around them and to learn the importance of protecting and caring for their environment.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Our launch and Beach School events will be an space for all members of our community to come together; we aspires to hold sessions not just for children, but for older people, people struggling with their mental health, workshops to reflect, spaces to find happiness. Health and wellbeing for our whole community PLUS greater environmental awareness is central to the aims of SEA THE CHANGE.
