St Andrew's Hospice
Health
We want to set up a bereavement service to support children who have lost siblings, parents or grandparents.
About this cause
St Andrew's Hospice is a not for profit company and registered charity, providing specialist palliative and end of life care for children, young people and adults who have a progressive life-limiting illness. Specialist palliative care is defined as providing management of pain and psychological, social, spiritual support to those with a progressive, life limiting illness. It helps them to live their life to the full and includes the support to their families and friends both during their illness and into bereavement.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Bereavement of an individual affects all those connected with the loss of a loved one. Children can often feel forgotten whilst adults work through their grief. The Child bereavement service will help children to understand, and families & family groups realise that together they are stronger and can be the long term support they need to begin to rebuild their lives.
