We want to improve the athletics pavilion at Craigswood Sports Centre to provide a vital space for the club and community.
About this cause
Livingston AC helps the community, particularly young people, to learn athletic skills and techniques whilst developing values such as integrity, dignity and respect, which encourage positive relationships within the wider community. It does this through its’ Run, Jump and Throw Programme for 5-12 year olds, main club sessions and an adult jogging group. The Club holds 5 Open Meetings offering club members as well as those from far and wide an opportunity to compete, try new events and set personal bests, without the formalities of league/championship competitions. It also offers a variety of opportunities for the local community to volunteer. Its’ principal objectives are the advancement of participation in athletics and inspiring an active healthier lifestyle in the local community.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The project brings together athletes, parents, coaches, officials and event organisers by continue to provide a venue that can be used for a variety of purposes such as registration, storage, event organisation, wet weather training for small groups, toilets and kitchen facilities. It also allows meetings both formal and informal between individuals and groups which promotes cooperation.
