About the Project
Our project encourages young people to take a proactive approach to interacting with the community including local businesses and voluntary groups. It also encourages young people to see long term employment options as viable careers within Highland Perthshire. We have good links with local community groups, councillors, schools and young peoples parents and often help groups with activities.
About the Charity
Our aim is the progression and development of young people aged 10-19 through building positive, trustful relationships with disadvantaged and vulnerable young people, many of whom are underachieving, involved in risk taking behaviour and/or at risk of becoming unemployed or underemployed upon leaving school. Over the past 12 years The Breathe Project, based in Highland Perthshire, has become an instrumental part of community, particularly in Aberfeldy, Pitlochry and surrounding areas, the project is heavily relied upon and is really the only youth service provider in the area. As a direct result of being needs led, we have developed a wide range of opportunities and activities for young people giving them 'somewhere to go', 'something to do' and 'someone to talk to'
