About this cause

Move On works with vulnerable young people and those affected by homelessness, offering a range of services providing advice, training, guidance and support enabling vulnerable young people and those affected by homelessness to unlock their potential and achieve a range of positive outcomes. Our FareShare Glasgow and the West of Scotland (FSGWS) food redistribution operation in Glasgow addresses food poverty and provides training and work experience opportunities for the people we support. The Co-op is one of the major retailers that regularly provides surplus food to FSGWS. The Family Food Service, a project partnering FSGWS and 3 agencies running community cafes in deprived areas of Glasgow, provides meals along with family activities to help address hunger during school holidays.

How this cause brings people in the community together

The Family Food Service partners are embedded in their respective communities in deprived areas of Glasgow and engage local families through meals in community cafes, delivering a range of other services to meet needs identified by the community, particularly during school holidays when families are at risk of holiday hunger.
