About this cause

Age UK Hythe and Lyminge provide friendly, flexible services that promote independance and wellbeing in later life. We are inclusive to all who need our support, however our services are aimed at those 55+. We offer a range of services including, social opportunity groups from our two day centres, support in the community with our independant living service, and meal deliveries, Information and advice and many more. We aim to reduce social isolation in later life. Support unpaid carers and family, and be the first port of call for issues effecting older people with in our community.

How this cause brings people in the community together

38% of clients at age UK Hythe and Lyminge suffer some form of dementia. Our aim is to provide opportunities to those living with dementia to enable them to live a full and varied life. Providing dementia friendly day care at our Lyminge centre and creating a support network for both clients and their carers.
