We want to develop the allotment and community garden in the area behind St Barnabas Church, as a shared space for everyone to enjoy.
About this cause
Cre8 Youth & Community Programme is a small local charity working with young people and their families in on the Moss Rose Estate in Macclesfield since 2005. Cre8 has grown to be a significant part of the neighbourhood and now employs a number of full & part time staff, as well as volunteers, running a variety of projects 7 a social enterprise business. Our projects include music making activities, youth clubs, one-to-one sessions to support & encourage engagement with education, overnight trips & residentials, bike workshops, outreach work to support the hardest to reach, most vulnerable young people, & giving young people employment and work experience to encourage them into work. Cre8's work is aimed at empowering young people in the local area to make change happen for themselves.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Garden will be open for 2 sessions a week & one-off days. Also youth clubs, toddler groups, addiction groups & over 50’s lunch clubs will use the area. We will target specific vulnerable, isolated, disempowered groups/people where Cre8 has an existing high reputation. Preparing/sharing food after each session will encourage healthy eating, social interaction & greater understanding of one another.
