Dolphin School PTA
Young People
We want to build a rope adventure trail in our playground as a fun way to support children's physical development and confidence.
About this cause
Dolphin School PTA supports activities that benefit pupils of The Dolphin School (TDS). TDS is a Primary School based in inner-city Bristol, and currently has 308 pupils. It will grow to its full capacity of 420 by September 2019. The school is relatively new (opened in 2012 and moved to its new building in 2017). TDS has a growing number of pupils who are disadvantaged and who speak English as an additional language. The PTA supports TDS through fundraising and community events which raise important funds for the school and bring together families from the school community. The PTA helps to buy items/fund activities that the school cannot afford eg sports equipment, events and educational and play items. With ever decreasing school budgets, the PTA is more important than ever.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Children and parents have come together to help decide which equipment to buy, and through the PTA, this is our priority for fundraising. We are a vibrant multiculural school with familes from a range of backgrounds. Many of our pupils live in flats without outdoor space - such space at school is therefore essential. Shared space to play and take on new challenges helps to break down barriers.
