About this cause

We are a Primary School with children aged from 3 years to 11 years. We currently have 288 pupils plus a further 32 pupils in Nursery. We have extensive and pleasant grounds which are constantly being developed. Windy Nook Primary School consistently strives to promote active and healthy lifestyles and we do this through the curriculum and during break-times, lunchtimes and after school. We aim to provide the children with a range of outdoor learning experiences which enables them to experience practical and hands on learning linked to nature and protecting the natural environment. We work with our local Church on gardening and horticulture projects and with other volunteer groups within the locality.

How this cause brings people in the community together

All of the school children and their parents will benefit from the project but we also want other community residents to come and enjoy the area, such as further developing our links with St. Alban's Church, who regularly support us in gardening and horticultural projects. The outdoor area will promote sharing and cooperation between the pupils.
