Crookston Community Group
Community Development
We want to buy a van to provide food to more disadvantaged people in Glasgow.
About this cause
CCG works in partnership with local communities, local authorities, statutory and voluntary groups, as well as the private sector, CCG has developed and supports a range of projects, using arts, culture, education, festivals, sport and other such initiatives. Aimed at building bridges among a diversity of cultures and communities. Over the past few years, we at CCG (Crookston Community Group) charity have established a voluntary food bank programme, which targets more than 500 deprived individuals per week within Glasgow. CCG has developed resources on cross-cultural dialogue and collaborative projects. CCG also runs a games club every Friday where children from the community are able to have fun in a supervised condition, children from different faiths play, learn and build bridges.
How this cause brings people in the community together
There's nothing better than food bringing people together from all cultures, faith and ages, we run a coffee morning and cook & dine club every Thursday where people from the community come and learn how to cook a healthy dish from scratch using fresh ingredients on a budget, also how to recycle food to make a new dish from leftovers.
