We would like to raise funds for a radio takeover day when every show on ALL FM 96.9 will be presented and produced by local children.
About this cause
ALL ARTS & MEDIA trading as ALL FM uses: i) arts ii) media iii) Radio production & broadcast training as a means to engage the more vulnerable members of the Manchester communities. A large part of our work is radio training. ALL FM 96.9 is a community radio station broadcasting to South, East and Central Manchester. The 120+ presenters/producers are volunteers who have been trained by us. The majority of whom are at risk of isolation. Shows range from foreign language shows (Farsi, Urdu, Polish, Chinese, Portuguese), shows by and for, carers, LGBTQ community, BAME communities, women, adults with autism, mental health issues, those with a disability. As well as Breakfast shows, Drive Time, specialist music shows etc.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Children from different backgrounds will be working together to produce radio shows. Children will work together as teams . They will be supported by their families, schools, youth organisations etc. With each child there will be 60 different families all helping and supporting this radio day; diversity of children, a diversity of families. The radio day will be the voice of the children.
