About this cause

East Cheshire Hospice was founded 30 years ago to provide specialist palliative care. It was initially funded by a small group of local people, who were determined that our area should have a hospice like other parts of the country. We provide a valuable service to the community of East Cheshire including Wilmslow, Holmes Chapel, Macclesfield, Congleton, Alderley Edge, Knutsford, Poynton, Hazel Grove, Buxton, New Mills and surrounding areas, serving a population of circa 240,000. During 2016/17 our hospice helped around 250 patients and 1,250 family members in our in Patient Unit and delivered more than 1,628 consultations in our Sunflower Wellbeing Centre.

How this cause brings people in the community together

We would extend our Childhood Bereavement Outreach programme share our expertise, training and education to schools, teachers, community groups and healthcare professionals.
