About this cause
TwistFizz C.I.C. is a not for profit tennis orientated social enterprise, focused on working in partnership with Local Authorities to sustain parks tennis for future generations, ensuring that activity is accessible and affordable for everyone. We provide a grass-roots tennis programme in Eltham for anyone that wants to have a go! Broadening the reach of tennis and removing barriers to participation is really important to us. We know that many living locally have never played tennis before and may not know how to get involved nor feel comfortable visiting us at the park, so instead we're keen to visit local community groups to deliver taster sessions and get people feeling good about being active
How this cause brings people in the community together
35% of people in the borough of Greenwich want to take part in more outdoor sport and 29% of people in Greenwich are inactive. This project will raise the awareness of the facilities and tennis programmes running in public parks. Importantly we can ensure that everyone that wants to get involved has the opportunity to do so regardless of socio-economic circumstance.
