We want to complete the building of the Hub and continue to fund much needed and requested activities.
About this cause
We are a cummunity forum, constituted by Thurrock Council, a registered charity and not for profit organisation. Our aims are to run activities that the community want and be open to people of all ages, genders & backgrounds. We have been supporting numerous groups and ages; from Parent & Toddler, Youth, Sport, Keep Fit, Knit-&-Natter, as well as being a base for links to the local council, citizens advice & a credit union. We have brought a lot of funds to the community over the last 15 years, but after the second round of National Lottery ended, we have worked hard to gain income (last accounts [2016] show £190,000,but this year was less than £20,000). We are still running most activities and have a second hand mini-bus.
How this cause brings people in the community together
We have made a major impact in our community over the last 15 or more years and believe the new Hub will add to that for many years to come. However, the potential to continue helping as many as possible in as many activities as the Co-op Local Community Fund would bring, is likely to benefit the whole of Aveley.
