We want to fund more trips for our girls to reduce the costs to parents, particularly those from low income households.
About this cause
Girl guiding empowers girls to be their best and face the challenges of growing up today, through adventure, friendship and fun. Our unit in Llanharan is just one of thousands of units across the world. We try to provide our girls with fun, challenging opportunities that they may not get to experience elsewhere, we try to work with the local community to develop an enriching programme of activities and give the girls as many different opportunities as possible. Each unit is self-funded and we rely on subs, grants and donations to keep the unit running and providing materials and opportunities for the girls. We go on trips, sleepovers and pack holidays and we work on badges to develop our skills such as craft, cooking, agility, first aid and have even done 3D printing.
How this cause brings people in the community together
It will allow girls between the ages of 7 and 10 to develop and have opportunities that will encourage their self belief and hopefully engage them in the local community and inspire them to continue their journey in Girl guiding.
