About this cause
Girlguiding is an organisation which give all girls from the age of 5yrs upwards the chance to be their best and face the challenges of growing up today, through adventure, friendship and fun. It is somewhere where girls are encouraged to be aware of the world around them, be true to their individual beliefs at the same time as respecting and valuing each others. No matter who you are, or what your background is, there's always a place for you in Girlguiding and it's a place where girls can feel comfortable talking openly about any worries or issues they may have. As a volunteer leader within our Girlguiding District I have the chance to organise and run the various meeting and activities to give these girls the opportunities, all within the safe and secure guidelines of Girlguidinguk.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Each girl who is a member of girguiding benefits from the ethos and purpose of the organisation, exposed to a huge variety of ideas, thoughts and activities as a part of this programme.. Included within this is a great sense of community and the world around them. As a group within Pyrford, we actively contribute to community events and fundraising activities throughout the year.
