About this cause

Our Church has been working with the town centre community to provide services which serve the community. We have a pre-school group with over 30+ children and their carers coming along weekly. We have a lunch club for the elderly and those who are living with the early stages of dementia and we run a weekly well being choir. We work hard to create a sense of a loving family that all are welcomed into. Other initiatives include a sketching class, therapeutic crafts and a knitting group. The woman all love to chat and have lunch but we find the men would rather be doing something productive. They want to have a purpose and a sense of self worth and to feel that they have achieved something . Our overall aim is to serve our community and enable it to flourish.

How this cause brings people in the community together

APS Church is central to the Stirling community and sits in the heart of the town. We have several community services but have became increasingly aware of the lack of men's services. Men are often lonely and feel isolated in their community as they have lost their sense of self worth. We want to encourage men to learn new skills and to encourage sharing their skills with younger men.
