About this cause
We are a local voluntary environmental organisation whose aim is to build a sustainable future by harnessing the power of community in the face of declining natural resources and increasing fuel and food costs. We support moving to a low carbon, local economy and building positive, self reliant communities. We aim to demonstrate by example how to make Bath more sustainable. We promote local food production and establish community veg and fruit growing projects.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The project will help in three ways: (i) it raises awareness of sustainable food production and the opportunity of growing food in small, accessible places, (ii) it provides fresh food for the public to eat, and (iii) it provides a purposeful activity for volunteers pursuing health lifestyles and encourages engagement with like-minded others and with the wider public.
