We want to convert our over-spill warehouse into workshops so we can renovate furniture and test electrical goods in a safe environment.
About this cause
Shrewsbury Furniture Scheme collects donated household goods from the Shrewsbury area, cleans, tests, renovates & stores as necessary before selling them on at very affordable prices to those in need within the same local community. Those in need includes for anyone on benefit, a low income, a pension or a student. This service is delivered from a warehouse in Monkmoor Road, Shrewsbury by a small team of employees ably supported by a host of great volunteers, including some with learning difficulties, & led by the Scheme Manager.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Relocating our workshops will provide more space for storage/display & sales within our main warehouse & therefor make it easier for those in need within our local community to select the goods they require as increased space will improve access to available household goods away from the noise of operating workshops.
