Our youth club members want to deliver events for the younger members of our community such as Christmas Fayres and playschemes.
About this cause
The Place Youth Club provides a welcoming safe environment for the young people within our community. The Place acts as an umbrella not just for traditional youth work but also for many clubs, activities and projects within our town”. The Youth Club has over 1232 youngsters through our door a month which equates to 228 individuals. It's difficult to find money to offer a programme of activities for such numbers. Many of the youngsters who are involved, live in areas defined in the SIMD. One of our main objectives is to encourage youngsters to work towards Youth Achievement Awards and Saltire Awards which are recognised qualifications. These Awards makes them more employable and gives youngsters who may not be particularly academic the opportunity to gain a qualification.
How this cause brings people in the community together
These events bring the community together and more importantly the youngsters involved feel a real sense of community involvement at an early age. All young people involved in the planning and delivery will be gaining Saltire volunteering hrs and also working towards a Youth Achievement Award which is a recognised qualification. These youngsters are very positive role models within the community.
