We want to organise family orientated Educational Fun Days in areas such as Staithes, training and equipping new volunteers to run them.
About this cause
Every Half Term we organise & run 2 Dino Fossil Fun Family Activity Days for maximum 80 attendees. Each child is encouraged to participate in fun educational activities related to their age & ability. Parents/carers are encouraged to participate & support them to foster family bonding. A healthy balanced lunch is given to each adult & child For 5 years we have run a free Jigsaw Lending Library on 1st & 3rd Wednesday every month- Coliseum Whitby. People travel up to 20 miles to borrow jigsaws for 2 or 4 weeks returning them on completion Head Teachers and parents have frequently requested us to organise and run a school uniform low cost exchange facility. Pilot testing was successful. We would be delighted to respond to many requests to offer the above projects to Staithes and Hinderwell.
How this cause brings people in the community together
It will bring a greater level of understanding between the generations and assist all generations to have a better understanding of the community they live in, including the unique Jurassic coastal history. It will foster family bonding. Developing a Jigsaw Library in this community and surrounding area will reduce social isolation and promote mental stimulation and eye/ hand co-ordination.
