We desperately need a water supply for our allotments, enabling us to work more effectively with the community.
About this cause
Supporting the community to obtain goods through our Swap Shops. No money is required therefore families can save money by swapping items instead of buying. We support vulnerable people, previously homeless, in emergency accommodation such as W omens Aid & people affected by disasters such as fire or flooding. We support by supplying Starter Packs & anything from clothes to furniture enabling people to move into accommodation that is functional & as comfortable as possible. We divert items from landfill to our swap shops through donations. We also have 2 allotments & work with the community, primary schools & organisations such as PUSH. Educating on sowing, harvesting & eating own produce, promoting health, nutrition, well-being, Physical/social/practical skills & can be therapeutic.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The allotments help families to spend quality, educational time together & the achievements & well being they have when harvesting and eating their own produce is priceless. Allotments can be therapeutic & calming for people who are stressed or deal with any kind of negative issues at home. They also promote inclusion, physical/mental well-being, better and healthier eating at a reduced cost
