1st Fettercairn Brownies

We plan to visit Edinburgh and buy art and craft materials to give brownies an opportunity to learn about their community's rich heritage.
About this cause
It promotes the instruction of girls of all classes in principal of discipline, loyalty and good citizenship, between the ages of 7 and 11. Our objectives are to encourage girls: to know who they are and think for themselves; develop skills to help them become independent and successful; inspire girls to showcase and share their creativity with others; enjoy and care for their community, their environment and the wider world; help the girls to look after their own and others health and wellbeing; have adventures and experiences beyond the meeting place. They achieve this by taking part in activities in the meeting place and in the community. These include crafts, cooking, games, singing, gardening, Christmas Tree Festivals, Concerts, Heritage etc. Importantly Brownies have FUN.
How this cause brings people in the community together
It will be a feature of future planned Heritage Events to be held in the community of Fettercairn. The most recent one attracted 400 visitors. These events help raise funds for community projects, lead to social inclusion and develops relationships between all age groups. It will enhance the self-esteem of the Brownies, and will be part of the story of the 'History of Fettercairn' in the future.
