We want to restore our bowling green, using weed treatments and fertilisers, now the council no longer cares for it.
About this cause
Gwynfi Bowls Club promotes community participation in healthy recreation and social engagement for the benefit of the inhabitants of Gwynfi and surrounding areas by providing and maintaining facilities for playing bowls recreationally and competitively, organising related community events and activities such as family days, presentations and an annual members and partners residential bowls weekend. The club seeks to encourage and support participation in the sport of bowls by all interested members of the local community. The main aim of the club is to sustain a viable and active membership into the future and address the very limited use of the facilities and sporting participation by the younger and female members of the community.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The Club provides an important focus for older members to remain physically and socially active and youngsters to interact with their seniors and engage in a healthy outdoor leisure activity, supports good causes and contributes to the village economy and identity. Keeping the green playable is at the heart of retaining all of these benefits for the community.
