We would like to continue providing facilities to support people with disabilities.
About this cause
Volunteer led organisation. Support & advise people with physical and/or sensory disabilities. Benefits advice from initial application through to representation at Appeal Tribunals. Information and advice on any disability related matters. Signposting & referral to specialist services. Drop In group for social contact & interaction. Training & activities to enhance vocational & leisure opportunities. Co-operation & joint working with other organisations including provision of meeting space. Representing the interests of people with disabilities to local and national authorities and organisations. Intention is to utilise our considerable space to provide a hub where people with disabilities could access a range of appropriate services but to do this we need to cover the underlying costs.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Alleviate financial hardship through accessing appropriate benefits and services. Addressing isolation and promoting social inclusion by providing social contact and purposeful activity. Relieving tensions within families and relationships by providing an outlet and support for individuals on a non-judgemental basis.
