We want to develop a 'Changing Places' toilet at Twinkle House to give disabled people a dignified space to be changed or use the toilet.
About this cause
Twinkle House helps improve the health and wellness of communities in the North West with a priority of West Lancashire. We provide therapeutic support for children and young people with Disabilities and Additional Needs and emotional support to their families. We also provide sensory and Hydrotherapy facilities for the whole community to use to help improve their health and wellbeing.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Our service users (children and adults) cannot always access our changing bed which is situated in the hydrotherapy pool, this means they are unable to be changed at Twinkle House which can be distressing and often means people need to leave. Having a 'Changing Places' suit on site means anyone in the community can call in to use this, giving a safe space where people can change with dignity.
