We want funds to help run our volunteer groups including our Baby & Toddler Group and Community Cafe.
About this cause
We are a community centre aiming to improve the lives of the people of Huthwaite by providing facilities for a whole range of activities and services. We're a base for a Sure Start Children's Centre, the Community Midwife & All Saints Pre-School. Community groups hire our hall too & we also offer Adult Education Courses. We'd like financial support for our volunteer run groups. These include a Baby & Toddler Group, Over 60's Lunch Club & a Community Cafe which has a soft play area for young children. The Cafe is a popular venue for a range of local people of all ages & also hosts a Knit & Knatter Group, Folk Club & a Craft Group. Added to this a new team of volunteers are aiming to offer a Beautiful Minds support group for people with mental health problems & their partners/carers.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Our volunteer run groups offer low cost activities that benefit a wide range of people from the very young to the very old. In particular they help reduce social isolation by offering the chance to meet new people, share interests and concerns and receive advice if needed. We are able to make referrals to a wide range of organisations if required to offer the right kind of help.
