We want to provide our children with animal visitors, trips, dress-up and art supplies tied into our themes.
About this cause
Playgroup runs two hour sessions five mornings a week for preschool children aged between 2.5 and 5. We are able to take up to 24 children a day. We provide a caring fun environment for what is often the first time a child has been away from their main carer and a child's first experience of sharing. We look to giving children the opportunity to develop their personal, social, emotional, physical and communication skills through free play, expressive arts, song and movement we encourage early learning. We have themes throughout the year e.g colours, shapes, animals, seasons, people that help us. We try to keep our fees to a minimum to remain affordable to those on a limited income in our community so rely on fund raising throughout the year through a committee of parents.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Playgroup is an integral part of the East Craigs community using the local church to provide an early education setting and a safe fun environment for pre-school children. Having funding to further enhance the playgroup experience would help improve the children's confidence and readiness for nursery and school. It also provides a meeting point for parents of young children to meet & socialise.
