We want to buy games, sports and activity resources for our OASIS Kids and OASIS youth clubs.
About this cause
We are a faith based organisation but we do a lot of work in the community to help the people of mainly disadvantaged estates around the Ordsall area of Retford where there is very little social care and community work existing. We work with people of all ages offering activities, groups, care and events for all the community to enjoy and experience. We work with primary school aged children and secondary age children through our Oasis Kids and Youth Programmes which offer weekly activity groups, special events, holiday care programmes throughout the year. Our activity groups are exciting and relevant to their needs and we are the only providers this kind of care. We also work with local families, food care project and elderly and put on regular weekly events throughout the year.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The project is growing and developing each year and reaching more and more children and young people in an area which has little opportunities and very few charities or groups operating. We are the only regular children's and youth groups operating in this area. Many of the local families we reach are known to be disadvantaged as we provide food parcels and special care to them.
