We want to buy pack holiday uniform/waterproofs to be used each time we take the girls away; this will ensure the girls have the same kit.
About this cause
We offer a space for girls to try new things, help in their community & discover their talents. With today’s children having fewer opportunities to be outside, our weekends & events are so valuable. The girls are their own person learning to make decisions, discovering their potential & achieving their own goals. Brownies provides a varied & interesting programme at weekly meetings; something for everyone whatever their age/ability. We include activities that encourage friendship, teamwork, & an understanding of others needs. We are involved in Girlguiding because of the benefits it provides; caring for others, gaining a wider view of the world, & a sense of belonging. All of which I hope the girls gain from being a Brownie in Copmanthorpe.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Uniform is expensive, some parents can't afford to buy it. For outings/events it’s important the girls feel part of the group & are recognised as a Brownie, all having the same equipment. The uniform gives the girls a sense of belonging and doesn’t differentiate them from those from a affluent background. Also the Brownie uniform is safe, robust & practical for wearing during outdoor activities.
