About this cause

littlelifts is volunteer-led, providing support to women facing chemotherapy treatment for primary breast cancer in Norfolk. We have a partnership with the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) to support 520 women per year with a Comfort Box. Chemotherapy treatment differs for each patient and often has unpleasant side effects. Comfort Boxes are given to patients before chemotherapy and they contain thoughtfully selected items which provide practical support and promote emotional well-being at time that is often overwhelming and unknown. Objectives: To provide 520 Comfort Boxes at the NNUH. To create a littlelifts community sharing hints and tips to help women get through chemotherapy treatment. By year 3, to increase our support to hospitals across Norfolk and Suffolk.

How this cause brings people in the community together

Central to littlelifts is community participation and support for women in the local community. For example, our Comfort Boxes have been designed with the support from women who have faced chemotherapy treatment for primary breast cancer themselves. Importantly, our Comfort Boxes will be given to women in our community who are being treated for primary breast cancer.
