We wish to purchase a robust gazebo with additional visual marketing tools. We'd like to buy a small van to move donations to our store.
About this cause
CGS4Gambia is a non profit organisation established in 2013, to provide opportunities for young people to learn about Global Citizenship through volunteer work, fundraising and engagement with disadvantaged communities in West Africa. CGS4Gambia works with young people of Campbeltown to broaden their knowledge about global citizenship through a range of educational workshops and events. Kintyre, as we know, is a remote and rural area. We feel it is important to encourage young people to learn about the broader global community. Our activities enable our students to develop an understanding of equality and diversity, also gaining transferable skills for their long term future. We value the ongoing engagement with and between our whole community and the community of Jarrol Village.
How this cause brings people in the community together
We receive donations of learning materials from schools, baby clothes and equipment from young families, and blankets and other knitted items from our elderly to send to Gambia.This definitely unites our community. Our CGS students gain richly from their experience. Some from the two groups we have previously worked with, have gone on to gain university places above their initial expectations.
