Dartmouth Orchestral Society
Art & Culture
New sheet music will broaden our repertoire in rehearsals and concerts for a wider audience.
About this cause
We are an amateur orchestra based in Dartmouth, Devon with around 20 players from Dartmouth and the surrounding area. We perform live classical concerts 3 or 4 times a year in Dartmouth. The orchestra provides a stimulating environment for its players who are continuing their learning of classical music to an increasingly high standard directed by our talented and challenging musical director. We are aiming to bring classical music to a wider audience with an increasingly challenging repertoire and aim to introduce orchestral music particularly to young people. We aim to promote, improve, develop and maintain public education in and appreciation of music.
How this cause brings people in the community together
We wish to enable increasing numbers of people in the locality to enjoy listening to live classical music. The members of the orchestra benefit by continuing their education in a challenging way keeping their brains very active and passing on their enthusiasm to the wider community.
