About this cause

Mildenhall Sea Cadets is a youth group providing for all young people between the ages of 10-18. Our main aim is to give the young people which we work with the best possible head start in life through nautical adventure and fun. A large focus of our training is based around water sports, providing opportunities for our cadets to gain skills and qualifications in sailing, rowing, kayaking, powerboating and windsurfing. We also encourage our young people to engage in other adventurous activities like camping, mountain biking and shooting. Furthermore, we provide training in a whole range of life skills from catering to engineering, from communication systems to first aid, many of which provide the cadets with nationally recognised qualifications to aid them with their future plans.

How this cause brings people in the community together

Providing a greater experience and developing the skills of young people in the local area. Giving experiences which cannot be found anywhere else in the local area (there are no other rowing clubs locally). Allowing the Sea Cadets to become more attractive to young people encouraging them to get involved, giving them something to do in the community.
