We want to promote self-help through outreach and awareness and fund allergy clinics for asthmatics to help them identify their triggers.
About this cause
A local charity, MASH has been helping the people of Medway in Kent (UK) since 1996 with information and advice for asthma sufferers and their families. Our doors are open to everyone and all our services are free. MASH provides information and advice to those who need it, including health professionals. What we do: We help people gain knowledge and confidence to enable them to manage their asthma We help people identify what their triggers are. We go out in the community to raise awareness of asthma. People are welcome to come back to us as many times as they like until they feel they are in control!
How this cause brings people in the community together
Our projects aim to reach people who might not know about us and those we have helped who might want to become further involved in MASH. We want to promote self-help and self-management of asthma; as part of this to help asthmatics identify what allergies might be triggering their symptoms. We want to reach young people at the university, some of whom might be away from home for the first time.
