We want to turn donated land into a garden. Funds will pay for plants, topsoil, equipment, and sponsors board.
About this cause
Founded in 2010, the objective is to benefit the residents of Prestbury and the Neighbourhood by associating together with the said residents and Local Authorities, voluntary and other organisations in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation, leisure time, and occupation with the objective of improving conditions of life for the residents. Recently we have financially supported the complete refurbishment of the local children’s playground. Having done so much to help the younger members of our community our attention now turns to the opposite end of the spectrum with a desire to help the older members and tackle the real and growing problem of isolation.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Environmental and community benefit for all aside, we have an aging population (2011 Census is well above national average) and isolation is a real and growing problem. This project will directly address this through the promotion of social cohesion by providing a tangible focal point. This is a landmark project. If successful we have a commitment from the Parish Council to supply additional land
