About this cause

The PGSPA runs the Arbor Centre, primarily to provide a base for the Pyrford Guide and Scout Groups. We do this by hiring out the facilities to local community groups for all ages and abilities, providing a wide vartiety of community activities. The money raised is used to maintain and develop the Arbor Centre facilities, so that it is self sustaining. It is run by volunteers, and spare money is ploughed back into the centre to upgrade and replace decoration and facilities.

How this cause brings people in the community together

By improving the lighting facilities, Pyrford residents will be more likely to make use of the Arbor for meetings, weddings and birthday parties; all of which will yield a growth of income. The availability of the court area for anybody to use at no cost, encourages young people to do that, rather than hang around with nothing to do.
