Kiveton Park Miners' Welfare Scheme
Sport
We want to extend our internal car parking capacity and repair leaking roofs, thereby improving the on-site experience for all.
About this cause
The trustees of the Kiveton Park Miners' Welfare Scheme administer a sports and social facility with three football grounds, one cricket ground and associated buildings. The facility's users comprise a football club, a cricket club, a folk club and a women's group. Access to the facility enables these groups to provide a range of traditional sporting, recreational and social activities including development and coaching. The scheme's objective is to ensure the continuing provision of the facility for the benefit of the former mining communities in and around Kiveton Park.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The improvements to the internal car park will help to alleviate a problem with over-spill car parking taking place on nearby housing estate roads. Our 'Good Neighbour' policy will be enhanced by this work. The repairs to the leaking roofs will enhance our facility's user experience and enjoyment by providing a better environment for sports participation and spectator comfort.
