About this cause

A Primary school serving the market town of Masham and surrounding areas. We have 115 children on roll and endeavour to provide the best education possible for them as well as supporting them, and their families with pastoral needs. We are exceedingly keen to be amongst the heart of the local community. Events such as annual maypole dancing on the town square & end of year production in the town hall are well attended by the residents of Masham. We encourage generational links; recently Y6 children invited elderly residents to school to use ancestory.com to trace their heritage. For the Tour de Yorkshire the children provided land art on the market square & we recently worked with several local artists to contribute the Masham art exhibition.

How this cause brings people in the community together

We are fortunate to have a stunning landscape in Masham and it would be great to make the most of it as an educational tool. As well as up-skilling the children in problem solving, resilience and practical skills, the project will hopefully encourage parents and members of the community who may not usually feel they have the academic skills (reading etc) to volunteer in school to get involved.
