We want to take socially isolated older people on day trips and need to pay for transport and entrance fees.
About this cause
Levenshulme Good Neighbours makes a huge difference to the lives of older people. Many of the people we help don’t have the support in their area to rely on for the practical things in life, or for companionship. Our work involves recruiting volunteer befrienders from the area who help people in a wide range of social, emotional and practical ways. We offer activities, social events, days out and training opportunities to older people, so they can make the most of their time in ways that are meaningful to them. We do what we do because it’s so important that older people enjoy independent and fulfilling lives and are active and valued members of the local community. It’s also a wonderful to see inter-generational friendships flourish.
