We would like to buy a sound/computer/television system to help with entertainment and the computer skills of our clients.
About this cause
Lynton Day Centre is a organisation that is supporting the elderly people in East Linton and surrounding area's. We provide day care for the elderly in a safe environment with trained staff. We support people with dementia and multiple other medical problems, and their family/carers. We are inspected by the Care Inspection. We offer respite care, personal care, home cooked meals, activities such as seated exercises, board games, carpet bowling, new age curling, musical entertainment, outings, talks by local people. It is important to show respect and treat people with dignity, equality, diversity, include everybody in our group and offer a secure and warm environment for meeting with their peers. This will all help to keep our elderly people living independent living own their own longer.
How this cause brings people in the community together
We would like to ask the children of the local primary/high school and other volunteers to help us with getting our clients introduced to computers. This will create a understanding between the different generations. In the future new clients with dementia will still recognise how to use a computer and we would like to be able to offer this possibility.
