About this cause

Our aim is to support homeless service users into independent living from their current situation. We are the only all year round emergency night shelter in Central Bedfordshire, staffed by volunteers from local churches in Leighton Buzzard & Linslade. We provide a safe, clean, homely environment but are currently limited to 10 bed spaces. We supply food each evening, plus breakfast & drop in sessions twice a week, supplying clothes if needed. We have outreach and mental health teams visit weekly & work in partnership with churches for other drop-ins throughout the week and supply tents/sleeping bags to rough sleepers if we are unable to let them stay. The charity's vision is for a purpose built property useful for the community as well as the homeless.

How this cause brings people in the community together

We are currently working with RSP (Rough Sleepers Partnership) & Central Bedfordshire Council as we are the only emergency night shelter in the area & our aim is to get the homeless off the streets and support them while turning their lives around through education & training. We also aim to educate the local community about the issues on their doorstep & how they can help be part of the solution.
