About this cause

The Herts & Ware Sea Cadets attracts young people from East Herts including those who ordinarily would have no challenges outside of school and may struggle to achieve minimum GCSE standards. The Sea Cadet movement offers exciting, challenging experiences and education to all young people from the age of 10, and offer BTec and DOE qualifications as they work through the levels. Emphasis is placed on discipline and pride -- in themselves and their fellow cadets. We also offer free attendance to families who cannot afford to pay and we are disability equipped including ramps and toilets, and we are in the process of completing a disability friendly campground.

How this cause brings people in the community together

We will give young people across Herts access to a fully equipped marine engineering to give them a great start in life. We will be able to make education of young people more straightforward and we open up opportunities that do not exist elsewhere in the county. Cadets will be able to work towards apprenticeships, further education or entry into the Royal Navy as they exit the school system.
