We want to buy more brass and percussion instruments so we can give more places to kids who want to join.
About this cause
Elland Silver Band is an independent community brass band which provides people of all ages from the local area and beyond the opportunity to play brass and percussion instruments. We have over 100 playing members aged from 7 to 80 years who play in our, children's Beginner/Starter band, Adult learner band, Training band, Youth band and Senior Band. Our objectives are to: 1. Provide our members with access to high quality instrumental tuition, an instrument, sheet music and opportunities to perform in concerts and compete in local, regional and national competitions. 2. To promote social inclusion through team work and friendships 3. To promote good citizenship. 4. To create opportunities for volunteers.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Being part of a Brass Band is a fantastic hobby for people of all ages and social backgrounds. It promotes positive behaviour, which is rewarded through success, ahievements and experiences. Children will have more opportunties. People of all ages and backgrounds form life-long friends. We make people happy when we perform. The band gives Elland something to be very proud of.
