We need to purchase equipment and furniture for the Cornubia Hall so that we can open the building for community use and benefit.
About this cause
Par Bay Community Trust (PBCT) is a registered charity still in its infancy. Its purpose is to serve the community of St Blazey, Par and Tywardreath in Cornwall by preventing or relieving poverty, advancing the health of residents, developing the capacity and skills of economically or socially disadvantaged residents, advancing local education and assisting in the provision of recreational facilities. It aims to achieve this by using a building that it has purchased and converting it into a centre for creativity, community engagement and social enterprise. PBCT has called its building Cornubia Hall, as this was its original name when built as a dance hall. Cornubia is Latin for Cornwall. The charity does not yet provide any services, as it is still in a development stage.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Cornubia Hall will become a focus for engagement, inspiration and opportunity for people of all ages and abilities. Creative workshops will be used to inspire, motivate and develop people, helping break-down barriers, reduce social isolation and build confidence. It will also provide a base for local artisans & social entrepreneurs to encourage collaboration and develop a creative environment.
